From Lyme Disease Patient to Coach
The harmony between the body, mind, and nature has always been the driving force in my quest for well-being. This desire and need led me to practice running, progressing to marathons and then ultra-trails, discovering the power of the mind and the ability to push beyond one’s limits. In 2016, my life took an unexpected turn with the onset of Lyme disease. Symptoms such as chronic fatigue, physical pain, memory loss, and neurological fog had been present for several years without me understanding their origin. Lyme disease swiftly disrupted this balance, plunging me into a period of denial, loneliness, and medical wandering in the face of a still little-known disease. The numerous questions it raised prompted me to find meaning in this ordeal.
From Research to Sharing Experiences of Lyme Disease
Driven away from mountain trails by the disease but fueled by my love of challenges, I obtained Level 2 Pilates Instructor certification in 2018, an activity I’ve enjoyed for over twenty years alongside Iyengar yoga. In 2019, at the peak of the disease, I earned my Master’s degree in Professional Coaching, focusing my thesis on the application of coaching in supporting chronic illnesses. Writing my thesis gave me the opportunity to express my experiences, identify a process, and see the potential to help those affected by Lyme disease. This introspective work led me to deepen my knowledge in human sciences by enrolling in 2021 in courses on new tools such as NLP and EFT. In 2022, after two years without symptoms, I was officially declared in remission. It’s complex to talk about a cure in the context of Lyme disease, which is a bacterial infection caused by Borrelia burgdorferi. Yes indeed!
My life journey through employment, education, and illness has led me to explore unexpected territories. Affected by personal health challenges, I found my path in Patient Therapeutic Education (PTE) and in 2024, I joined the PTE University Diploma program at Sorbonne University as a “Lyme” expert patient.
Lyme Warrior: An Innovative and Life-Saving Coaching Offer
Currently in remission from Lyme disease, I understand the difficult journey of those affected by the illness: medical wandering, difficulty in receiving treatment, lack of recognition of the pathology, and isolation. Drawing on my experience, the goal of my coaching is to support individuals with Lyme disease, whether they are athletes or not, with a recent diagnosis or dealing with the chronic form of the illness. I aim to share all my knowledge and practical tools to foster resilience, guiding individuals towards their desired future rather than constantly bringing them back to the illness.
Are you ready to gain the upper hand over Lyme disease by committing to one of the coaching programs I offer?
The program spans 4 to 6 months and consists of 12 sessions. These sessions include coaching (emotional management, work on values and needs), Pilates/yoga, meditation/heart coherence, and “well-being” sessions that cover Lyme disease-specific dietary guidance.
